Welcome to End of the Leash Pet Boutique, a locally owned, women- and veteran-owned business where pets, people, and community come first. Co-owned by Tina McNish and Jillian McLellan, End of the Leash brings over 40 years of combined experience in the dog training and pet industry to serve the Ottawa Valley.
With Tina’s roots as a multi-generational military family member and now military spouse from Petawawa/Pembroke, and Jill’s background as a veteran from Sydney, Cape Breton, we blend east coast warmth with hometown charm. This experience gives our customers a truly personal, knowledgeable, and welcoming experience every time they visit.
End of the Leash is more than a pet store — it’s a hub for responsible pet ownership, community connection, and heartfelt service. We are proud to provide high-quality, Canadian-made products sourced from trusted local businesses, bringing the best food, toys, and training supplies to our clients while supporting our local economy. As champions for various community initiatives , we go beyond retail by advocating for pet health, wellness, and responsible ownership.
We believe in building a strong community, and part of that is offering resources for responsible pet ownership. Our training programs include puppy, obedience, and behavioral training, as well as specialized programs for service and therapy dogs through our nonprofit, Watch My 6. Our workshops and seminars offer pet owners essential guidance and support to help them build lasting, compassionate relationships with their pets.
Our commitment to the Ottawa Valley community is also seen through our charitable partnerships with local causes like Jason Blaine, Robbie Dean, and the Coldest Night of the Year, and through donations totaling over $10,000 to the local SPCA. In addition, Jill serves on boards for PBAN, OVTA and Whitewater Ontario, supporting environmental initiatives that protect the natural beauty of the Ottawa Valley.
At End of the Leash, we know that building a great team is the foundation of exceptional service. That’s why we offer a living wage, guaranteed time off, and putting a strong focus on staff's emotional and physical well-being. In a military community like Petawawa, we understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexible scheduling to ensure our team has the support they need at home and work.
With a deep passion for pets and a commitment to the people who love them, our goal is to “put the pet back in Petawawa — one paw at a time.”
We invite you to visit us and experience the difference a local, heartfelt touch can make.
